Donovan McNabb Opens TD Account With The Redskins

Donovan McNabb wasted no time in showing Washington fans what they can expect this season throwing a touch down during his brief appearance in the Redskins easy win over Buffalo. McNabb completed 5 of his 8 attempts for 54 yards and rounded off a solid if short lived display with a 4 yard TD Pass to Anthony Armstrong, giving him a QB rating of 124.

This will have heartened the home fans who have seen their team struggle to put up points in recent seasons, and they will be even more optimistic following Albert Haynesworth’s performance in their 3-4 defensive set up doing what any top nose tackle should, dominating the center and allowing others to blitz with ease. He reportedly has admitted quite liking his new role and if this reflects a new team player mentality form him then the Redskins defense will be something to watch this season.

It is also worth mentioning Rex (the forgotten QB) Grossman’s performance which was well above par and although he wont see much action this season he looks like an able back up adding depth to the Skins squad.

Unfortunately Buffalo look like having another long hard season and it is difficult to make a case for them finishing anywhere but 4th in the increasingly competitive looking AFC East.
