The short lived saga of where TO will be playing this year ended yesterday when he signed a $2 million two year contract with the Cincinnati Bengals. This move is not a major surprise given that the other main contenders the St Louis Rams are unlikely to be challenging for the playoffs this season, and given Owens is now 36 he will not want to waste another season with a rebuilding team. Also he is big friends with Chad Ochocinco so he will have support in the locker room from day one.
So what does this do for the Bengals?
Well Carson Palmer will be in a much better position as the inclusion of Terrell Owens will give him extra options, something he desperately needs following last seasons dismal passing record where the Bengals ranking 26th overall. Given that they won the AFC North thanks to their defense and running game any marked improvement in offense could be the difference between a repeat performance and struggling in what looks like being a very competitive division this year.
