Jadeveon Clowney Shines at the NFL Combine

Former University of South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, did his draft prospects no harm at all with a tremendous showing at the NFL Combine, capped by a 4.53 second 40 yard dash, no small feat for a guy who weighs 266 pounds.  The 6’5″ 21-year-old entered the 2013 College season as one of the front runners for the Heisman trophy, however a series of niggling injuries meant that the Gamecocks star never really recaptured his earlier form which included an eye catching performance in the 2013 Outback Bowl against Michigan; which Vincent Smith may or may not remember given the hit he put on him.

Despite missing out on the Heisman and a place in one of the 2014 BSC Bowls he has announced that he’s going to skip his senior year and head straight to the NFL draft, where in our opinion he will go in the top 5 picks and the Houston Texans (who hold the No 1 pick) may view the prospect of lining him up alongside JJ Watt as too tempting to resist.
