San Francisco 10, Chicago 6 Prediction – 49ers by 7 or less.
A game Jay Cutler will prefer to forget despite throwing for 307 yards. Five interceptions including a potential game winner in the last few seconds killed any chance the Bears had of winning and in doing so keeping their faint hopes of making the play offs. The 49ers can count themselves somewhat lucky but won’t be making the playoffs either on this evidence.
New Orleans 28, St. Louis 23 Prediction Saints by 7-10 points.
As expected this was a bit more competitive than the form would suggest and The Saints were maybe just a little lucky to get away with making so many mistakes. Still they are rattling up the points and have a good chance of being the No 1 seed in the NFC as their schedule is not too taxing. The Rams will be challenging for the No 1 draft pick again this year but are showing some tiny signs of improvement.
Tennessee 41, Buffalo 17 Prediction Titans by 10 points plus.
The Titans seem to have finally turned the corner and although it is too late for a playoff run they seem intent on salvaging some pride having now won 3 on the bounce. Having said that at 17 all coming into the 4th quarter the game still looked in the balance and the score probably flatters the Titans slightly. The Bills look destined for last place in the AFC East.
Miami 25, Tampa Bay 23 Prediction Miami by 10 points +
A close one with Miami snatching it at the death with a late field goal. Neither team look playoff bound this year.
Minnesota 27, Detroit 10 Prediction Vikings by 14 +
Not a lot need saying here – the Vikings are looking good and possibly Superbowl bound and Detroit are still a long way from a winning season.
Jacksonville 24, NY Jets 22 Prediction Jets by 14+
This probably ended the Jets post season hopes and kept Jacksonville’s just about alive. Having said that I will be very surprised to see either in the post season.
Cincinnati 18, Pittsburgh 12 Prediction Steelers by 3-7 points.
This was a statement performance by the Bengals who are now almost certain to take the AFC North. They could easily be Playing Pittsburgh again in the Post Season.
Washington 27, Denver 17 Prediction Denver by 10Points +
Oh dear have Denver done it again, flattered only to deceive. With the Chargers showing the form expected of them pre season they will now have to get back on track fast or risk possibly missing out again. Defeat against the Chargers next week will probably leave them facing a 9-7 season and hoping for a Wild Card place.
Carolina 28, Atlanta 19 Prediction Panthers by 7 points
A good result for the Panthers who after a shaky start are now in the NFC playoff battle alongside Atlanta who will be a bit concerned following this divisional defeat.
Kansas City 16, Oakland 10 Prediction Kansas by 3-7 points.
Not the most memorable of games but a a nice win for the Chiefs which might give them 3rd place in the division.
Arizona 31, Seattle 20 Prediction Arizona by 7
A good win for the Cardinals with Kurt Warned putting up some decent yardage in a win which puts them in a very strong position in the Division. Seattle will need to think about next year now and getting their players fit again.
Green Bay 17, Dallas 7 Prediction Dallas by 7-10 points
A bit of a surprise as Green bay continue to swing from the ridiculous to the sublime. The NFC wild cards are wide open this year and with this win the Packers must still fancy their chances. Dallas will be fearing the late season slump again.
San Diego 31, Philadelphia 23 Prediction Chargers by 7 or less.
A really good win for the chargers who have won two really tough games in a row and must fancy their chances of taking over as division leaders after the Denver game on Sunday. They are coming into form at just the right time and look like being contenders in the AFC again this year.
Indianapolis 35, New England 34 Prediction Patriots by 7
Indy remain unbeaten and now look like being the No 1 seeds. A rare failed gamble by Bill Belichick undoubtedly cost them the game. I think there is a good chance that they will get a second go in the post season though.
Baltimore 16, Cleveland 0 Prediction Ravens by 14 points.
The Ravens kept their Wildcard hopes alive thanks to this shut out win over the hapless Browns. Surely the Browns will play better than this sometime this season.
