Super Bowl XI January 9th , 1977
Oakland Raiders 32-14 Minnesota Vikings
The Raiders made a victorious return to the Super Bowl having lost in Super Bowl II to the Green bay Packers. Starting as 4 point favourites they soon justified this with 16 unanswered points in the second quarter, following a scoreless 1st quarter.
The Vikings briefly rallied in the third scoring a TD to pull the scores back to 19-7 but it was the Raiders who took the trophy, padding their lead in the 4th and eventually running out comfortable winners racking up 429 yards of offense in the process.
Pete Banaszak led the scoring with 2 touch downs, however the MVP award went to Wide Receiver Fred Biletnikoff who had a far from spectacular 4 catches for 79 yards however his efforts did set up three Raider touchdowns.
