JaMarcus Russell’s checkered history continued this week when he was arrested for abuse of Codeine syrup, often referred to as Purple Drank.
Not the most heinous of crimes, but as the symptoms of abuse include feeling drowsy, weak and in an altered level of consciousness it could go a long way towards explaining his performances on the field for the Oakland Raiders :).
He is a free agent at the moment and it is hard to imagine any franchise taking a chance on him. Thus history will remember him as the only NFL quarter back worse than Ryan Leaf.
