LaDanian Tomlinson Opts For The New York Jets

In a slightly surprising move the New Your Jets have replaced one near veteran running back with another, after acquiring LaDanian Tomlinson from the San Diego Chargers. This seems a slightly strange decision given they just released Thomas Jones who was coming off of a career high season and it appeared that they were happy to play Shonn Greene as starter.

Given that LT will be 31 in June and is coming off his worst season in the NFL and with a $5.1m contract will around the same as retaining Thomas Jones would have this change of personnel looks a little odd. Still I hope that things work out for both players with their new clubs.
