Ex Minnesota & Seattle wide receiver Nate Burleson must think Christmas has come early this year when signing a $25m five year deal with the Detroit Lions. Even more surprising is that $11m of this is guaranteed making it a bit of an expensive gamble on a receiver who has only amassed 27 touchdowns in 90 games.
To be fair he has been in a poor Seattle team in recent seasons but he is not exactly moving to a franchise with great short term potential.
Still with Matt Stafford not having much to aim at he should get plenty of passes, and with another high draft pick available perhaps they can start to fill some of the holes on the roster. At least they wont have to use an early pick on a wide receiver.
