Indianapolis 35, Jacksonville 31 – Will Indy go 16-0? This looked like their last hard game and if they play their starters nothing left on their schedule should stop them.
Dallas 24, New Orleans 17 – A massive win for the Cowboys who are still in the race for the NFC East. This could set up a winner takes all clash with The Eagles in week 17.
New England 17, Buffalo 10 – The Patriots continue to look lacklustre but should take the AFC East title and in the playoffs betting against the Pats is not a good way to make money.
Arizona 31, Detroit 24 – Arizona continue to sleepwalk their way into the post season sewing up the division with another iffy performance against a poor Lions team. If they wake up and start playing like they did last season no one will fancy playing them.
Tennessee 27, Miami 24 (Over Time) – The Titans did their best to lose this game but just failed thanks to Miami running out of steam. Both teams will need a lot of luck to make the post season now.
Cleveland 41, Kansas City 34 – In the battle of the early draft picks The Browns outshot the Chiefs and have now won two games in a row.
Houston 16, St. Louis 13 – The Texans made hard work of overcoming the Rams despite Matt Schaub and Andre Johnston both having big games. Houston just about keep their playoff hopes alive while the Rams look like getting the 1st pick in the Draft.
Atlanta 10, NY Jets 7 – Both needed this one and it showed in a drab game The Jets just about remain alive thanks to other results but I can’t see Atlanta making it despite this win.
Oakland 20, Denver 19 – Do Denver not want to play in the post season? Having blew it big time last year it looks like they are trying to make it two in a row. Now they are in a real fight and may end up missing out as they have The Eagles next week. Their one blessing is that the finish with KC which should be winnable.
San Diego 27, Cincinnati 24 – In the battle of the divisional winners in the AFC (ok The Bengals are not their yet but will sew it up next week) both teams showed they are genuine contenders in a good hard fought game. The Bengals looked a different team to that who played the Vikings – probably spurred on by the sad loss of Chris Henry last week. The Chargers won their 9th game in a row and are looking like potential Super bowl winners.
Tampa Bay 24, Seattle 7 – A rare Tampa win against a poor Seattle team who like The Bucks will be rebuilding for the next 2-3 years.
Baltimore 31, Chicago 7 – Watch out The Ravens are about and should now manage to grab a Wild Card. The Ravens have played well in most games and no one will fancy playing them in the post season. As for Chicago well they have the QB but tow need a team to go with him.
Pittsburgh 37, Green Bay 36 – The Steelers sprang back into life on Sunday night with a nice come from behind win against a good Green Bay Packers team who are starting to get their offensive line sorted. Despite the defeat the Packers are the more likely to be playing in the post season.
Carolina 26, Minnesota 7 – Did the Vikings just give up or are the Panthers getting better? Who knows but the Vikings already knew they had the division following the Packers loss and looked to have given up in the 4th Quarter with 20 unanswered points and a heated exchange between Brett Favre and Brad Childers who was probably worried that Brett would not be fit to eat his Christmas dinner if Julius Peppers hit him anymore. Bad recent defeats both here and against The Cardinals throws up a few questions about how good these Vikings are but they should have a 1st round bye to rest up and get things right.
NY Giants 45, Washington 12 – Performance of the week in my opinion by the Giants who are starting to look good but have they left it too late. The Skins are a better team than their record shows but being stuck in the strongest division in the NFL means they will get little chance to shine in the near future.
