Following the Miami experiment, which to be fair did increase ticket sales the NFL Pro Bowl will be returning to Hawaii in 2011. It is scheduled to be played in the Aloha Stadium on 30th January which will again mean that a large number of the selected players wont take part as they prepare for the Super Bowl. Last year 7 players from both the Indianapolis Colts and the New Orleans Saints were selected and overall 40% of those initially chosen didn’t attend.
Although still a good spectical for the fans it does throw up questions regarding its perceived value to the players and the NFL who must be aware that an All Star Game where 40% of the stars don’t turn up is a bit misleading.
