The Philadelphia Eagles who currently play in the NFC East Division of the NFL were established as a replacement for the bankrupt Frankford Yellow Jackets in 1933. Although recently one of the most consistent franchises in the NFC they have generally not been one of footballs brightest lights.
In their 1st 10 seasons the team only managed 23 wins and it took until 1947 before they finally won their first honour, winning the NFL East division. In the following two seasons they won the NFL Championship beating the Chicago Cardinals 7-0 in a blizzard in 1948 and the LA Rams 14-0 in 1949. A further NFL title was won in 1960 but this was the last time the Eagles won a championship
