There is no sentiment in the NFL as proven by The San Diego Chargers decision to release LaDanian Tomlinson after 9 years with the team. During this time period the Chargers have enjoyed considerable success and LT has been a major part of this. However at 30 his best years are probably behind him and injuries have hampered his numbers which at 52.1 average per game is well below the 113.4 he put in during his career high season in 2006.
This decision might have more to do with the salary cap than any view that LT is finished and I expect there will be a number of franchises who are willing to take a chance on him having a few more yards in him yet.
