What will the Dallas Cowboys do with wide receiver Miles Austin, who has had a great season for them and crowned it with his first Pro Bowl appearance. Currently he is a restricted free agent and this gives the Cowboys the options of placing a franchise designation on him, working out a long-term deal or seeing who will come up with the draft picks for him.
With Roy Williams having secured a big contract, an currently being regarded as the no 1 receiver despite his less than vintage season it will be interesting to see whether Dallas decide to cash in and keep their wage budget down or come up with the big money. Slapping the Franchise tag on Austin would be akin to an insult and he would almost certainly walk the following season.
I expect a few teams will be watching the situation with interest.
