Detroit Lions President, Tom Lewand and Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano are teaming up for area youth by co-chairing the annual Wayne County Steak & Burger Dinner benefiting seven Boys & Girls Clubs in Wayne County. Ford Field will be the setting for this exciting event to be held Thursday, April 7, 2011.
The dinner is expected to raise $ 100,000 to benefit the six Wayne County Boys & Girls Clubs located in Detroit, Belleville, Romulus, and Highland Park, where more than 9,000 youth receive homework help and participate in sports and other after-school activities in a safe, educational and fun environment.
The dinner will highlight the accomplishments of some of the youth served in Wayne County. It is a night in which the kids are the stars for the evening. In an effort to keep our priorities in order, the adults will eat burgers while kids will dine on steaks. It is an evening to celebration our children, our future leaders.
Amerisure Insurance is the presenting sponsor and Blue Cross Blue Shield will be a major sponsor. For information on sponsorships and attending the event please click here.
