A deal has been struck between The National Football League and Verizon Wireless to show live NFL games live games via their Red Zone Channel next season.
The four-year deal is estimated to be worth $720 million, which is constituted of a licence fee and advertising and will give access to live coverage of every Sunday afternoon game. Additionally, subscribers can receive extensive highlights.
The deal marks a continuing shift in content distribution towards the mobile space and might attract additional viewers who want to spend their Sunday afternoons somewhere other than the settee.
