The Sooners start brightly with easy win over Tulsa while TheTigers struggle

Its early days but our BSC tip Oklahoma got off to a nice start with a comfortable 47-14 win over Tulsa Golden Hurricane. Dominique Whaley ran in 3 scores and QB Landry Jones looked sharp throwing for 375 yards and a TD to Ryan Broyles. The Sooners led 47-7 well into the 4th quarter before Kinne threw his second TD.

Last seasons BSC Champions Auburn failed to impress in their opener having to come from behind to beat a plucky Utah. They look to be sorely missing Cam Newton and they wont be repeating last seasons feat if this performance is anything to go on. The Aggies actually led 38-28 with 3.38 left to play before inexplicably blowing it in the last two minutes giving up the winning TD with 30 seconds on the clock.

The Tigers face Mississippi State this weekend and this will tell us a lot more about their 2011 prospects. The game is on ESPN 3 which unfortunately is not available in the UK, however we will console ourselves by watching Notre Dame at Michigan at the uncivilised time of 1.00 am on Sunday morning UK time.
