I what will not have come as a surprise to anyone who watched the Patriots last season, Tom Brady has been named the Associated Press Offensive player of the year.
The has had a fantastic season, throwing 36 Touch Downs and only 4 interceptions giving him an incredible ration of 9.0, far eclipsing the previous record he set in 2007 when his ratio was 6.3. His nearest rival is Steve DeBerg who managed a 5.8 ration in 1990 while playing for the Kansas City Chiefs; admittedly this could have been better had he not thrown 3 of his 4 interceptions in one game.
The defensive player of the year was named as Troy Polamalu who will play for the Steelers in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
