Michael Vick Gets Taken Down By Brian Cushing
Michael Vick engineered a nice come from behind win against The Houston Texans as the Eagles consolidated their place at the top of the NFC East. Trailing 24-20 going into the 4th Quarter and looking a bit the worse for wear having taken some heavy Vick led his team by example shrugging off his obvious bruising to run for the go ahead TD and then with just over 4 minutes left he threw another to put the game beyond Houston’s reach.
This was a mighty impressive performance against a good Texans side, who battled hard knowing that their playoff chances would be severely dented by a loss. As things now stand the Eagles have their destiny in their own hands and will take the NFC East if they win out. Their only real challengers the NY Giants will now have the pressure on them and will need to beat the Redskins to stay in touch half a game down.
As for the Houston Texans, well its hard to see where they go from here this season with their only chance of the post season likely to be winning the AFC South, which looks highly improbable given they would need a big slip up by both Indy and the Jags. Still they are continuing to improve and although they are the only NFL team not to make the post season this should change soon.
