Week 15 NFL Games

The heat is on now for those teams still in with a chance and there should be some hard fought match ups this Sunday / Monday.

New England at Buffalo

New England following some uncharacteristic slip ups need this to maintain their lead in the AFC East and given the importance I would expect to see a bit more from Brady and the boys compared with their somewhat lacklustre performances of late. I expect a Patriots win by 10 points plus with Randy Moss having a good game.

Arizona at Detroit

Arizona are a hard team to figure this year – a great win over The Vikings followed by another lax showing against San Francisco. Still up against the Detroit Lions even one of their half asleep performances should be enough for a victory. I predict an easy win for the Cardinals by 14 points +

Miami at Tennessee

The Titans season ended in week 6 with the sixth consecutive loss but since they have regained a bit of pride and will play this one tough. The Dolphins are on the verge of the playoffs again but I think they over achieved last year and a repeat visit to the post season looks unlikely. I expect the Titans to finally put Miami’s season to rest tonight with a narrow win by between 3 and 7 points.

Cleveland at Kansas City

Another battle of the basement teams which is of little significance to either team so could go either way. The Browns did a nice job of running all over the Steelers last week and a repeat performance could be good enough here. I predict a Browns win by 7 points +

Houston at St. Louis

The Texans may have thought this was their year to finally make the post season and they have enough good players now to do it, but inexperience and inconsistency looks likely to cost them again this season. Still they will be looking to at least maintain their 50% record and I expect them to play hard here and beat the sorry Rams by 10-14 points.

Atlanta at NY Jets

This is a final fling of the dice for both teams who looked like having good seasons early on but have suffered inconsistent form of late. The Jets of the two have the better chance and I think they will want it more and win by 7 points +

Oakland at Denver

Denver can just about sew up a wild card with a win here and they showed enough last week in their defeat to Indy to convince me that they are good enough to grace the post season. They won’t go much further than the wild card game but it’s a start and Josh McDaniel can be somewhat proud of his 1st season’s achievement. As for a score well I expect the Broncos to win by 10 points +

Cincinnati at San Diego

The Bengals came crashing back to earth last week at the Vikings and they will probably get more of the same here as The Chargers look to gain their 9 consecutive win and all but clinch a 1st round Bye. Could be a close one but it’s the Chargers for me by 7 points +

Tampa Bay at Seattle

The Bucks have not been good this year and Seattle have not been a whole lot better but both can look forward to better things as their rebuilding efforts continue apace. Tonight’s game should go to Seattle who are quite good at home having a 4-2 record. The Seahawks to win by 10 points +

Chicago at Baltimore

The Ravens are probably the unluckiest team in the NFL having had a tough schedule and have lost a lot of games they could have won with a little good fortune. They now know that any more defeats will probably cost them a Wild card place and I expect them to be well up for this game. Chicago have been a major disappointment to many but as it turns out they have been in a pretty tough division with both the Packers and Vikings looking like being a force in the NFC play offs. Could be close but I will go with the Ravens by 7 points +

San Francisco at Philadelphia

The 49ers won well last week but The Eagles are a different team to the up and down Cardinals and they will win this one by 10-14 points on their way to the post season.

Green Bay at Pittsburgh

The Packers are still weak on the offensive line but they are starting to show signs of gelling into a unit which can at least keep Rodgers on his feet long enough to win games. The Steelers look like a team who are still basking in last year’s glory and will now struggle to reach the post season. I am going for The Packers to win this one by 3-7 points on their way to the Wild card game.

Minnesota at Carolina

The Panthers are still a handful for any team despite their poor record this season and still have a power running game. Unfortunately for them The Vikings are capable of shutting teams down as shown in the clinical defeat of the Bengals last week and will probably do the same to Carolina tonight. I expect a Vikings win by 10-14 points.

NY Giants at Washington

Any NFC East match up will always be tough and despite their poor record The Redskins have been playing quite well and have not been beaten heavily in many games. Despite this I think the Giants are just about good enough to win this one and keep their slim play of hopes alive. It’s NYG for me by 3-7 points in a hard fought Monday Night Game.
