The New England Patriots will be heartened by the news that Wes Welker, who sufferd a torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament in his left knee at the end of last season, looks like being fit for the season opener and is expected to be taking part in the pre season training soon.
Welker, went under the knife in February to repair the ligament damage he suffered in the last game of the 2009 regular season during which he set a career highs with 123 catches for 1,348 yards. He was a big miss in the post season and having him back sooner than expected will be a major boost to the Partiots chances of making the post season again, which they will need given that the AFC East looks like being ultra competitive this season.
