The second round of the 2012 NFL Draft was a little less eventful trade wise and the teams with multiple 2nd round picks used them well.
We were very impressed with what the Rams did getting a good WR in Brian Quick from Appalachian State. If he had played for a higher profile college he could easily have sneaked into the first round. They also got a great CB in Janoris Jenkins who could also easily have gone in round 1. The Rams are slowly but surely building a nice squad, although we would have liked to see them draft someone to protect Sam Bradford.
The Colts reunited Coby Fleener with his College QB Andrew Luck and this looks an inspired move. The Colts will have a much better 2012 with this pick.
The Dolphins made a nice move getting some protection for their new QB when drafting Jonathan Martin and we think the Bills got a good deal with Cordy Glenn who will stiffen their o-line nicely.
The Falcons filled a big gap (litterally) with Peter Konz and we also thought the Jets and Giants both got good value with their WR choices.
However the pick of the second round for us was Baltimore trading out of the 1st round and using that pick to get Alamama’s Courtney Upshaw. Upshaw was a key player in the Tides magnificent 2011 defense and he shouk
