Rex Ryan and The NY Jets received a double whammy when their ex star Corner Darrelle Revis was cut by the Buccs after one season. Not only did he choose to join their main divisional rivals, ahead of them, but they will also miss out on the conditional Third Round Draft Pick which they would have received from Tampa had he remained on the roster as they have released him instead of trading him.
As for New England , well they have replaced and possibly gained an upgraded on Aqib Talib who has joined their likely main AFC rivals Denver, and a $12m one year deal with options to extend is not too expensive for a 5 time Pro Bowler, even if he has some niggling injury concerns. Despite not being anywhere near 100% last season and playing for a struggling team Revis put up some impressive stats including 43 tackles, two interceptions and a sack. He also had 11 pass break up plays and managed to appear in all 16 regular season games.
So overall the Partiots will be very happy with this acquisition, Tampa will be a bit embarrassed by the unbelievable mess they have made of what was one of the biggest trades in NFL history and the Jets will devastated having not only been snubbed by a pro bowler who they will face at least twice next season but also in losing out on a draft pick.
