Cleveland Want The Rams 1st Draft Pick

The Cleveland Browns General Manager Tom Heckert says the Browns have  been in contact with the St Louis Rams regarding moving up the draft to take Sam Bradford with the No. 1 overall pick. Despite signing Jake Delhomme Cleveland would still benefit from a franchise quarter back and with 10 draft picks this year they could offer a good package.

However Browns new president Mike Holmgren has stated that it would take a very substantial offer to tempt them so the trade is looking unlikely. Personally I dont think it is 100% certain that they will go with Sam Bradford despite releasing Marc Bulger a few weeks ago so they might yet get a chance at the trade if he slips through to Detriot at Number 2.

A more probable scenarion is that they keep their picks as there are some good QB opportunities this years draft and the no 7 pick overall might be enough to get Jimmy Clausen or if they are not despertate for that big name quarter back they could wait for the second round where the likes of Colt McCoy or Tim Tebow could offer very good value.

Bradford did not visit the Browns, but the team attended his pro day workout.
