Sadly it has been announce that the Aug 7th Scheduled Hall of Fame game between the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Rams has become the first victim of the lock out. The game which is viewed by many as an integral part of the 10 day Pro Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Festival will not be played this year, with the cited reason being lack of time to prepare.
Given the grueling nature of the NFL season both teams are unlikely to be too upset as both will have playoff aspirations and playing five pre season games instead of four does increase the pressure on the players.
Still for us fans its a shame that what has now become a bit of an early August tradition has fallen victem to a squabble over money.
The rest of the planned events should take place with no further disruption.
