The New York Jets continue to strengthen their squad and have filled a hole at wide receiver by acquiring 26 year old 2009 Super Bowl MVP Santonio Holmes for a 5th round draft pick a price which is more reflective of his checkered history than his ability.
Holmes has had more than his fair share of off field publicity and is currently facing a lawsuit for allegedly throwing a glass at a Woman, cutting her eye and in the past has been arrested for possession of marijuana, and was involved in a domestic violence incident in 2006.
His addition will give the Jets offense more options where he will join forces with Braylon Edwards and Jerricho Cotchery giving quarter back Mark Sanchez plenty of targets should they decide to start throwing the ball a little more in 2010. The Jets already have the defense (which could improve further if Jason Taylor signs) and with the addition of LaDanian Tomlinson depth at running back, so it will be an interesting season for Jets fans if this receiving core manage to click.
