In what must have been a brave decision (or a well paid one) the New York Jets have agreed to be the feature of this years HBO reality series Hard Knocks, which follows the pre-season preparations of an NFL team.
Although the publicity will be high, participating has not been a particularly good omen in the past, with only the Cincinnati Bengals who won the AFC North last year even having managed to reach the post season when featuring.
The other teams to feature are Baltimore Ravens (2001) then reigning Super Bowl champions, Dallas Cowboys (2002), Jacksonville Jaguars (2004), Kansas City Chiefs (2007) and Dallas Cowboys again (2008).
Should be interesting viewing for NFL fans and even coach Rex Ryan has been getting ready supposedly losing 40lbs in a weight loss programme – will anyone notice I wonder.
